This is Perfect for ...

The course “Cost Estimating, Life Cycle Costing and Budgeting” is focusing on the Front End Loading / Preparation phase of projects. This is the phase in which you make estimates, schedules and project execution plans (plus a lot more) in order to prepare for the execution of the project. Because Budget Estimates are prepared during Detailed Design & Engineering, this course is also useful for Project Execution.

The course “Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Control” and is focusing on the Execution phase of projects. The emphasis is on Project Control, Earned Value Analysis, Management of Change, and Project Monitoring and Reporting. Because FEED Budgets can be substantive, Project Control is also important during the FEED.

These two courses are complementary and attendees can take both courses.

In May 2012 I attended Richard’s course ‘Advanced Cost Engineering and Risk Management’, which is a comprehensive training in Cost Engineering with a strong link to overall capital and risk management. Richard covered the project ‘big pictures’ as well as detail tools and methodologies that are useful for participants to further progress in developing their own toolsets. With my primary role in project assurance, I certainly have benefited from the training and I strongly recommend the training to anyone who is involved in capital projects!
