Who should attend?

This course is intended both for those project professionals who have experience in project planning and scheduling and would like to augment or brush up their planning and scheduling skills and knowledge. The course is also suitable for those with advanced skills who are interested in becoming a certified planning and scheduling professional. This course is suitable for planners, schedulers, cost engineers, contract administrators, project managers, project control professionals and all those professionals who are associated with project planning and scheduling.


Program Overview

This course will provide attendees with coverage of Advanced Planning and Scheduling concepts combined with practical exercises. The course can also be used as preparation to become a certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) with AACE International. A PSP is a skilled planning and scheduling professional with advanced experience in project planning, and developing, monitoring, updating, forecasting and analyzing integrated project schedules. The PSP leads the planning and scheduling process within the AACE International Total Cost Management (TCM) framework.

  • Awareness of the Knowledge and Skills required of a Planning and Scheduling Professional

  • An appreciation of the inputs, considerations and constraints in developing a project plan

  • An awareness of planning outputs and deliverables

Laurie Bowman, CCP, PSP, DRMP, EVP


Laurie has 25+ years of experience in program/project management and project control, planning and scheduling, and risk management.


His focus is on helping clients achieve successful project and program management outcomes through training and coaching. He has gained extensive experience over his career as an engineer and a manager.  


Laurie holds AACE International certifications for:

  • Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP),

  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP),

  • Earned Value Professional (EVP),

  • Decision and Risk Management Professional (DRMP)


Moreover, he has earned APM practitioner certifications in Project Control and Earned Value Management. Laurie is a mentor with PMI and AACE International, is currently serving as the Regional Director (Asia Pacific) for AACE International and is a member of the Standards Australia technical committee for many Project Management standards.

His experience on project management, cost analysis, planning and scheduling with varied industries including Power Stations, Oil Refinery, Sugar Refinery, Petrochemicals, Air Defence, Offshore Fabrication and Rail Projects.


Laurie has a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Queensland, a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Southern Queensland and MBA in Finance and Project Management from the University of New England.
