According to the World Economic Forum, Emotional Intelligence (EI) ranks amongst the top 10 most important skills needed to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.  

EI involves a set of skills that help us perceive, understand, express, reason with, and manage emotions both within ourselves and others.  

Improving EI skills at the workplace translates to a workforce that demonstrates improved communication and interpersonal skills, better self and relationship management, higher resilience, and better problem-solving skills. 

 

This highly interactive programme is designed to help individuals understand, incorporate, and demonstrate these EI behaviors at the workplace for a more positive and productive workplace environment using the proven Genos Workplace EI Model.

Learning Objective & Outcomes

By the end of the training programme, participants should be able to: 

  • Identify and demonstrate their value driven behavior at the workplace.

  • Recognize and manage their emotions better at the workplace.

  • Understand why EI is crucial for workplace productivity and performance.

  • Recognize strengths and challenges of each personality to improve team dynamics.

  • Avoid / minimize conflicts through the understanding of distinct personality traits.

MODULE 1: ESTABLISHING COMMON PURPOSE & VALUES

  • Establishing the Purpose & the “Why?”

  • Understanding personal values.

  • Exploring value driven workplace behavior

MODULE 2: WHAT & WHY OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

  • Role of EI in personal & professional life.

  • The myths of EI

  • Understanding role of emotions in workplace

  • Determining the link between emotions, behaviour, decision-making, and performance.

  • “The EI Experience” 

MODULE 3: COMPETENCY BASED WORKPLACE MODEL (GENOS) 

  • Explore the Genos EI Workplace Model (6 leadership competencies, and corresponding behaviour)

  • Explore productive & unproductive states of each competency. 

  • Emotions, Behaviour and Outcomes-exploring the outcomes/impact of productive/unproductive behaviour on others. (Interactive activity)

  • Understanding the importance of feedback at workplace

  • Steps to receiving feedback professionally (based on Genos EI Self-assessment)

 

MODULE 4: SELF & OTHER AWARENESS THROUGH PERSONALITY UNDERSTANDING

 

  • Perspective and perceptions; acknowledging conflicting views. 

  • Introducing the 4 Basic Human Personality Types.

  • Understanding the strengths and challenges of each personality type.

  • Identifying personality type in self & others (Personality Assessment)

 

MODULE 5: WORKING EFFECTIVELY WITH EVERY PERSONALITY

 

  • Decoding the communication style of each personality type.

  • Designing your communication style to match others for increased influence (Do’s & Don’ts)

  • Understanding the motivation drives and emotional triggers of each personality (in self & others) to minimize conflict and increase influence.

MODULE 6:  EMPATHIC LISTENING 

 

  • What is empathic / mindful listening

  • How to demonstrate mindful listening using “RASA” technique

  • The art of asking questions when listening

MODULE 7:  MASTERING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS

 

  • Understanding human emotional triggers (C.A.R.E) 

  • Conducting difficult conversation through “CARE” Model

  • Appropriate words to incorporate CARE into your conversations. 

COMPREHENSIVE RECAP: MOVING FORWARD

 

  • Group and personal reflection on key takeaways from the session, using coaching game & tools

About the Trainer:


Hetal started her career approximately 27 years ago in the banking industry.  Within three years into her career, she moved up to becoming the Head of Credit Dept. within a major public listed bank.  Her passion to empower people and help them discover their true potential eventually led her to the field of learning and development.  

She has had the privilege to work with people from all walks of life, mainly in the area of creating positive self-image, emotional intelligence, communication & interpersonal skills, and leadership skills. Apart from training and facilitation, Hetal has a vast experience in management and human capital development. 
 
Hetal specialises in the training and development of Workplace Emotional Intelligence (EI), Leading with EI, Personal & Professional Resilience, Personality Understanding, Professional Business Communication and Interpersonal Skills.  She uses unique methodologies, and creative coaching & training tools in her workshops that personalizes the learning journey for each participant. As an Emotional Intelligence (EI) Practitioner and Assessor, Hetal is certified to conduct and administer GENOS Workplace & Leadership Assessments, and to facilitate virtual instructor-led Emotional Intelligence Leadership programmes. 

Hetal has designed and conducted training courses, talks and webinars for several corporate clients over the years such as Bursa Malaysia, UOB Bank, Bangkok Bank, MBSB Bank, Fujitsu, Intercontinental Hotel, Zalora, Malaysian Architect Association, Guocera Tiles Malaysia, UNITEN, Cybersecurity Malaysia, and Unilever to name a few.  Apart from the above, she has also conducted training for DXC Technology, KASS International, Trigle Dynamics, Meiko Clean Solutions. 

In Jan 2021, with the growing need for emotional support, Hetal initiated “Meaningful Conversations,” a platform which provides a safe space to declutter and realign thoughts, feelings & emotions.  Through this platform, she offers one on one coaching, as well as group workshops for corporate and individuals, volunteer services for refugees, and “paying it forward” sessions for the public.
